Hands 2 Feet offers the following group programs to help your child  "achieve their potential in daily activities".
 
 

1. Write On! An occupational therapy printing group

  • For children 6-8 years old who are experiencing difficulties completing written work at home and school due to: poor pencil grasp, incorrect letter formation, decreased speed, poor spacing within and between words, and decreased use of lines.
  • Consists of 6, 1hour and 15 minute weekly sessions.
  • All groups are run by a registered occupational therapist.
  • There is a maximum of 5 children per group.

Group 1 - Thursdays 4:30 to 5:45pm;  Mar. 24, 31, Apr. 7, 14, 21, 28, 2016.

Group 2 - Mondays (biweekly) 4:30 to 5:45pm;  Apr. 4, 18, May 2, 16, 30, Jun. 13, 2016.  

 

 2. Write On 2! An occupational therapy writing skills group  

  • For children 7-9 years old who are experiencing difficulties with writing skills due to: poor generation of ideas and sentences, difficulties with organization of written work, and decreased speed. 
  • Children must be able to write and read short words.
  • Consists of 6, 1hour and 15 minute weekly sessions.
  • All groups are run by a registered occupational therapist.
  • There is a maximum of 5 children per group.

 Thursdays 4:30 to 5:45pm;  May 5, 12, 19, 26, Jun. 2, 9, 2016.  

 

3. Music Therapy groups  

  • A specialized music experience tailored to the needs of your child in a supportive environment.
  • Focuses on socialization, turn-taking, creative expression, and having fun in a group environment
  • Consists of 10, 1hour sessions.
  • All groups are run by an accredited music therapist
  • There is a maximum of 6 children per group.

Saturdays 11:00am-12:00pm:   Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30, Feb. 6, 13, 20, 27, Mar. 5, 12, 2016.

  

4. Kids Yoga Classes  

Non-competitive, fully integrated yoga classes for children 7-12 years old to :

  • Improve strength, flexibility and balance
  • Increase sensory awareness and body awareness
  • Improve focus and concentration
  • Teach relaxation and reduce stress/anxiety
  • Teach cooperation and teamwork
  • Have fun!

Consists of 10, 1 hour classes.  All classes run by a Certified Kids Yoga Instructor.  There is a maximum of 6 children per class.

Tuesdays 6:30 to 7:30pm;  Apr. 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, Jun. 7, 2016.

 

5. Summer Camp H2F

Printing Camp     9:00am to 11:30am      July 18-22 or August 22-26, 2016

Based on our popular and successful Write On - An Occupational Therapy Printing Group, this camp is for children 6-8 years old who are experiencing difficulties completing written work at home and school due to:

  • poor pencil grasp
  • incorrect letter formation
  • decreased speed
  • poor spacing within and between words
  • decreased use of lines

There will be a maximum of 6 campers.  The camp is run by a registered occupational therapist

 

Sensory Movement Camp     9:00am to 11:30am      August 15-19, 2016

Is your child fidgety, active, or always on the go?  He/she may be seeking more sensory input.  This camp provides children with increased opportunities for more sensory input through specific games and activities.

Children will have the opportunity to: 

  • engage in heavy work activities that provide resistance to muscles and joints
  • receive deep pressure sensory input
  • engage in tactile sensory activities
  • participate with peers in offering and receiving sensory activities
  • learn to recognize which sensory activities they prefer

There will be a maximum of 6 campers.  The camp is run by a registered occupational therapist.

                              Music Camp    9:00 to 11:30am     August 8-12, 2016

Each day is themed for maximum fun and learning.  Children will be introduced to a variety of instruments and have ample opportunities to play them.  They will play music from their favorite movies, explore and express their feelings, share their family and friends, and of course, dance and move to their music.  They will also make musical instruments to take home.

There will be a maximum of 6 campers.  The camp is run by an accredited music therapist.  

Yoga and Art Camp     9:00am to 11:30am      July 11-15, 2016

Children will participate in a yoga class then make a yoga art project to take home.  The yoga class will consist of yoga poses, yoga games, quiet games, and relaxation time to: 

  • improve strength, flexibility and balance
  • increase sensory awareness and body awareness
  • improve concentration and focus
  • teach relaxation to reduce anxiety and stress
  • teach cooperation and team work

There will be a maximum of 6 campers.  The camp is run by a certified kids yoga instructor.
